ESCO Energy Supply Contract

The ESCo Model

There are two main requirements for an ESCo (Energy Supply Contract) to work:

  • Two parties involved – An investor (i.e. J L Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd) and an end user (the new customer)
  • The customer will have a business, property or properties that have a large heat demand and would benefit from lower heating costs with no capital outlay


ESCo Owner (Investor)

  • The investor (J L Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd) will be responsible for the capital expenditure of the biomass plant
  • front page imageThey will also be responsible for the running and maintaining of the system
  • They will sell heat to the customer (if the fuel is not sourced internally)
  • They will retain the RHI income generated


The End User (Customer)

  • Will buy heat from the ESCo owner (if the fuel is not sourced internally)
  • They will supply the heat demand
