Fillingham – Private Residence

The customer chose a woodchip fuelled biomass boiler system to provide heating and hot water to his house, office and flat.

Woodchip were chosen by the customer, because he has access to woodland that can be used to provide the fuel.

The customer has an existing oil boiler in the main house which we kept in place as a back-up for the biomass system; J L Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd installed radiator heating systems in the flat and the office.

The boiler was installed into one end of the customer’s outbuilding, along with the buffer tank. The woodchip store was built next to the outbuilding.

The 60kW Firematic auger fed biomass has woodchip supplied from a 4m x 4m store, the wood chip is drawn into the auger by a 4m diameter agitator.

Heat meters were placed between the buffer tank and the boiler, in the flat, the office and main house to comply with RHI stipulations.

As the customer is providing his own woodchip, savings on costs are very significant, with predicted fuel savings of £4,500.00 per annum. The RHI returns from this commercial installation are projected to be in the region of £6,500.00 per annum, rising with RPI for a 20 year period.

This successful project was completed within three weeks, with designs for the boiler, the boiler integration and the RHI requirements submitted by J L Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd.
